Harry, Meghan, William and Kate didn’t let the terrible weather conditions stop them from attending the first annual Royal Foundation Forum on Wednesday (28th February 2018). Ms. Markle joined her husband-to-be and future in-laws on stage in the auditorium of the Aviva Offices in London.
The two couples were on-stage to speak about their reasons for setting up the Royal Foundation, their current projects and their ambitions for the future.
William and Harry set up the Royal Foundation as the ‘main vehicle’ to pursue their ‘charitable and philanthropic interests’. Kate joined the two brothers as Patron in 2011, shortly after marrying Prince William. To nobody’s surprise, the Palace confirmed Meghan will do the same after the Royal Wedding on May 19th:
We are delighted to welcome Meghan to the Foundation. She has always shown great drive and compassion for making a difference in the world, and we are excited to embark on important projects together. – Royal Foundation
The forum was titled ‘Making A Difference Together’. The event brought together programmes that have been started by or run by the Royal Foundation, including United for Wildlife, the Invictus Games and Heads Together.
During the forum, the foursome took part in a Q&A with BBC journalist Tina Daheley. As most Meghan fans will know, the bride-to-be used her profile as an actress to champion the empowerment of women and young girls before meeting Harry. It’s speculated that Meghan will continue working in this area after joining the Royal Foundation in May. Daheley asked Meghan about this. You can watch her response at around 11:55 –

Meghan’s outfit:
The former actress wore a navy blue dress by Jason Wu, a Canadian designer based in New York City. It’s the crepe back satin belted wrap dress.
It is still available to purchase at Nordstrom.com where it retails for $1,415 USD. The retailer describes it as follows:
A sleek belt secures the wrapped waist of this trench-inspired dress sewn from an elegantly draped crepe-back satin.
UPDATE: My stylist friend Michelle noticed that this dress featured on both Jason Wu’s spring/summer 2018 and his resort 2018 runways. She also noticed Meghan’s dress has epaulettes which aren’t on the ready-to-wear version from Nordstrom.
Meghan paired the dress with a pair of strappy black sandals by one of her preferred footwear designers, Aquazzura. They’re the Casablanca multi-strap pumps in black suede.
The shoes feature an ankle strap with a buckle, a slender point toe and a stiletto heel. The shoes retail for £505 GBP / $750 USD at MatchesFashion.com and Net-A-Porter.com.
The soon-to-be Royal kept her jewellery minimal, opting for a simple pair of earrings by Isabel Marant.
The earrings are made from gold-tone brass with a black enamel stripe. They cost £65 GBP / $90 USD at Net-A-Porter.com.
UPDATE: As of March 3rd, the gold and black version of Meghan’s earrings are sold out. If you’d like to copy Meghan’s style, you can buy the same earrings with a white enamel stripe from FarFetch.com.
She also wore a few gold rings and a bracelet:
